Woohoo The Simpsons Movie

I Just got back from watching the Simpson’s movie. I went with a number of friends and family. After a 30 minute wait in line and 20 minutes of ads it started.

And I have to say it was well worth going to see, with non-stop laughs from start to finish, and some great animation. The first 30 minutes were as Mr Burns would say, Excellent. If the film had carried on like that, it would have been the greatest Simpson’s episode ever. But towards the end, it seemed to tie things up a little to quickly in my opinion.

The Simpsons Movie

My biggest disappointment with the movie is that Sideshow Bob appears nowhere in the film. All throughout the movie I was expecting Sideshow Bob to appear and help homer save the day, or more likely be the very man behind the plot to destroy Springfield. But it never happened – I even waited until after the credits, with no luck.

Other than the absence of Bob, the Simpson’s movie was a great first film, lets hope the Sequel is even better.

  • after reading this it came to that sidshow bob dosnt apper in the film. this was a dissapontmint. but other then that it was a grate film. during the crdits maggie says her first word but to tell u the truth it wasnt. it was dad. wasnt it.

  • Your a true Simpson’s fan, Maggie’s actual first word was Daddy. And it’s the 10th episode of season four, titled “Lisa’s First Word”.

  • This movie was the best of the year
I’d like to see Bob in the movie too
as the bad guy, of course :)
I didn’t notice maggie in the credits
    that’s all I wanted to say :]

  • the funniest part is where Russ Cargill says he wants 10,000 tough guys and 10,000 soft guys this is how he want them arranged: tough tough soft tough tough tough soft soft soft soft tough soft. A man says Sir, You’ve gone mad with power though it’s a shock that Sideshow Bob wasn’t in the movie

  • he could have killed the townspeople long before the bomb could.

  • maggie’s first sentence was: This is indeed a disturbing universe in season 6 episode 6: Treehouse of Horror 5

  • That was a excellent bit, especial when he says his mad with power speech:

EPA Official: S-sir, I’m afraid you’ve gone mad with power…
Russ Cargill: Of course I have. You ever tried going mad without power? It’s boring. No one listens to you!”

The episodes that guest star Albert Brooks are always great. One of my favourite episodes staring him is “You Only Move Twice” where he plays Hank Scorpio – Super villain.

Another one is “The Heartbroke Kid” as Tab Spangler – Fat camp leader, plenty of funny moments in that episode.

Spangler: Son, I’m gonna tell you a story about a young man who came here and failed. Well, that is the story. I shouldn’t call a sentence a story. Anyway, it’s you!

Spangler: Young man there’s something I have to show you. In one hour. We have to drive there. No talking along the way, it’ll hurt the drama.
    Bart: Can I just–
    Spangler: Shh, drama!

Spangler: Mr. Simpson, you’re suffering from PSI. Poor self esteem. That’s not I! Every sign is wrong!”

    Brilliant.
