Adding to the Dark Knight Hype

Heath Ledger - Joker

Just thought I’d add to the hype after going to see the Dark Knight at the weekend. All I can say is that it’s brilliant. Fantastic. I’m afraid there’s not enough words to describe how great it is. Clearly a masterpiece. It’s dark, sinister, complex…Believe all the hype you read, I was so impressed with the Dark Knight that I’m even considering going to see it again.

Superman Theme Song

Since my last post was a bit boring I thought I would post this - It’s probably the greatest superman theme song ever made.

Brilliant, also checkout the James Bond theme song

Batman Goes Shopping

I am sure it happens to every superhero every once in a while. You’re out fighting the forces of evil, and after tying up that last bad guy you just happen to notice you’re just across the street from a supermarket and you know if you don’t just nip across and get those needed items you’ll only have to go out and do it tomorrow; or in Batman’s case, send Alfred out. Clearly Batman’s too much of a nice a guy to send Alfred out just for milk and toilet paper. Classic video. Enjoy

Heroes Season 2

Heroes is back for its second season this month, set to air on the 24th on NBC over in America that’s only 16 days from now, still no word on when season 2 will be airing over here in the UK. But it’s probably not going to be until next year now. since the BBC have managed to outbid the Sci-Fi channel & won the first run rights for Season 2, even though they haven’t finished showing the first season yet. which is annoying since I’ve already watched the entire first season on the Sci-Fi channel :(

Anyway the first episode is set four months after the events that took place at the end of season one, & from the trailer that I’ve posted below it looks like both Nathan Petrelli (Adrian Pasdar) & Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia) survived the explosion, in the trailer you see Nathan’s reflection in a broken mirror for a split second, & towards the end you see a glimpse of Peter. you also see Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg) & Sylar (Zachary Quinto) but we all knew Sylar would be back for season 2, after all you can’t keep a good villain down. The only character not seen in the trailer that had been fatally wounded or presumed dead at the end of season one, was D.L. Hawkins (Leonard Roberts) looks like the rumors floating around the Internet about this characters demise could be true.

How Superman Should Have Ended

Browsing youtube again, I came across this funny spoof on the original superman movie. The way it should have ended seems to make more sense than the original ending did - for one he stops both rockets before they hit their targets, after all he is Superman. Even Batman makes an appearance. Classic.

Heroes Art

Scared ClaireIf like me you enjoy comic book art and have been watching the hit NBC TV show Heroes, you probably would have noticed the recurring paintings and sketches that play a central role throughout the show.

Well they are all created by comic book ilustrater Tim Sale. The body of Sale’s comics work has been with collaborator Jeph Loeb who is also a writer and producer on the show.

The two have produced popular works such as Batman: The Long Halloween, Batman: Dark Victory, and the so-called ‘color’ books for Marvel Comics starring characters such as Spider-Man and Daredevil.

Just over a month ago, four of the paintings that where featured in the TV show went up for auction. The paintings that where auctioned marked pivotal moments in the TV series: The Exploding Man, Homecoming, The Eclipse and Hiro Battles The T-Rex the highest bid was a huge $25,000 on the Homecoming painting probably one of the most iconic images in the first season. All the proceeds went to the National Epilepsy Foundation.

Also there is an article here in which Sale talks about the stories behind some of the paintings that appear throughout the series.
