Adding to the Dark Knight Hype

Heath Ledger - Joker

Just thought I’d add to the hype after going to see the Dark Knight at the weekend. All I can say is that it’s brilliant. Fantastic. I’m afraid there’s not enough words to describe how great it is. Clearly a masterpiece. It’s dark, sinister, complex…Believe all the hype you read, I was so impressed with the Dark Knight that I’m even considering going to see it again.

Terminator Salvation The Future Begins Teaser

Being a huge fan of the Terminator films but NOT the TV Show - and yes I watched every episode - I can tell you that I’m looking forward to the next instalment in the terminator franchise, “Terminator Salvation - The Future Begins”, which is set several years after judgement day - so after all the glimpses of a possible future war between man and machine in the last 3 films we will finally get a detailed look at the horrifying future, and will be able to fill in some of the blanks from the time after the war starts to the day they send back the T-800 series. It’s going to be great. I can’t wait.

Plot: (source: IMDB)
“Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor (Christian Bale) is the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and it’s army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind”

The Beast with a Billion Backs Sneak Peek

I haven’t really got around to posting anything for quite a while, so feeling the need to post something - even if it has been floating around the internet since November - I thought I would post this 4-minute sneak peak of the next Futurama film, set to be released towards the end of March. It’s going to be great - I can’t wait :)

Batman Goes Shopping

I am sure it happens to every superhero every once in a while. You’re out fighting the forces of evil, and after tying up that last bad guy you just happen to notice you’re just across the street from a supermarket and you know if you don’t just nip across and get those needed items you’ll only have to go out and do it tomorrow; or in Batman’s case, send Alfred out. Clearly Batman’s too much of a nice a guy to send Alfred out just for milk and toilet paper. Classic video. Enjoy

Bender’s Big Score Rleased

Futurama, Benders big scoreGood news everyone! Futurama has officially returned this week with its direct-to-DVD movie, which was released over in the US on Tuesday November 27th. Unfortunately, there is no release date set for the UK as of yet - which is annoying considering this is a monumental event and I am sure most, if not all, Futurama fans would agree: something this big should have been released globally, not just in the US.

The good news is, I’ve been reading a lot of good reviews on the film and thankfully it sounds like it’s way better than the Simpson’s movie which as I stated earlier here, seemed to tie things up a little to quickly towards the end. So far from what I’ve read it sounds like the Futurama movie doesn’t do that at all and actually has a very good, structured plot to go with it.

I have to say, Futurama is my favourite out of the two shows; and if the Futurama movie didn’t do so well, I think I would start to lose faith in Matt Groening. The Simpson’s is good, don’t get me wrong, I am just more of a sci-fi geek.

The only bad thing I’ve actually heard is that a lot of the humour is based on established themes and inside-jokes, so someone not familiar with the Futurama universe might not pick up on some of the jokes, but for me a Futurama addict, this doesn’t seem like a bad thing at all, as it will make it just that much more enjoyable.

Good news, everyone!

Futurama’s back after being canceled over 4 years ago. The show will return on November 27th as a full-length high-def film sold on DVD. It will be followed by three additional films, and each film will be divided into four episodes each to be aired on Comedy Central.

Futurama

The first DVD film to be relesed - Bender’s Big Score - centers on the Planet Express crew fighting to save Earth in an epic battle against nudist alien internet scammers. Who send Bender back in time to loot the Earth of its greatest treasures.

The remaining three films will be released throughout 2008 & titled, ‘The Beast with a Billion Bucks’, ‘Bender’s Game’ and ‘Into the Wild Green Yonder’.

Woohoo The Simpsons Movie

I Just got back from watching the Simpson’s movie. I went with a number of friends and family. After a 30 minute wait in line and 20 minutes of ads it started.

And I have to say it was well worth going to see, with non-stop laughs from start to finish, and some great animation. The first 30 minutes were as Mr Burns would say, Excellent. If the film had carried on like that, it would have been the greatest Simpson’s episode ever. But towards the end, it seemed to tie things up a little to quickly in my opinion.

The Simpsons Movie

My biggest disappointment with the movie is that Sideshow Bob appears nowhere in the film. All throughout the movie I was expecting Sideshow Bob to appear and help homer save the day, or more likely be the very man behind the plot to destroy Springfield. But it never happened - I even waited until after the credits, with no luck.

Other than the absence of Bob, the Simpson’s movie was a great first film, lets hope the Sequel is even better.

Ryan vs Dorkman 2 Excellent Fan Made Lightsaber Battle

So if your only reason for watching the last 3 Star Wars films were for the lightsaber battles, then your in luck. The creators of Ryan vs Dorkman have just recently released the sequel, ‘Ryan vs Dorkman 2′. This is just as fantastic as the first film with the same non-stop lightsaber action but with better interaction with the surroundings.

Created by Ryan Wieber and Michael ‘Dorkman’ Scott, the original movie was produced for a lightsaber duel choreography contest. RVD2 was released on March 1, four years to the day after the original Ryan vs. Dorkman. Check out the official website for a higher resolution video.

A Dog’s Breakfast

David Hewlett probably best know as “Rodney McKay” (the best character) from the TV series Stargate Atlantis has Written/Directed and Stared in A Dog’s Breakfast I only found out about this a few weeks ago. From the trailer (below) and a few other bits and pieces I’ve seen around the web it looks pretty good. The only way to see this film for now is to request a screening hopefully not to long and it will end up on DVD.

From the official website: A Dog’s Breakfast If you’ve never been good at anything in your life, why would murder be any different?

Patrick has always had a somewhat combative relationship with his little sister Marilyn. But when she brings home her new sci-fi-soap star fianc Ryan, it’s all out war. When Patrick fails to drive a wedge between the happy couple, he reaches for sharper instruments. Every family has a few skeletons in the closet; A Dog’s Breakfast is the nightmarishly funny mess Patrick makes when he tries to add another to his.
