WordPress Plugins
Here is a quick list of a few great plugins for WordPress that I am currently using, or I have used in the past.
AdSense Manager - Helps to manage Adsense ads on your blog. While other plugins require you to copy and paste code from the Google Adsense site, Adsense Manager generates the code automatically for you. With Widget and inline post support, configurable colours.
Akismet - Akismet is a spam-fighting service that checks your comments against the Akismet web servers to see if they look like spam or not. You need a WordPress.com API key to use it.
Embedded Video with Link - Made for easy embedding of videos into a blog post, from various portals or local video files (like YouTube, Google Video and many many others).
Google Sitemaps - This plugin will create a Google sitemaps compliant XML-Sitemap of your WordPress blog.
IM Online - A neat little Wordpress plugin to show your current online status on your blog, with Widget support. The plugin is powered via onlinestatus.org and supports most IM services including AOL, MSN, Yahoo!, Jabber (inc. Google Talk), Skype and ICQ. You can show as many or as few IM network icons as you like and all options are configurable through the control panel.
Quick Stats - Logs hits with referrer, ip, host, client and url information. RSS tracker feature lets you tracker your visitors in near realtime using an RSS reader.
Google Blog Search Preview - Displays incoming links from Google Blog Search in the latest activity panel on the Dashboard.
WP-Polls - Adds an AJAX poll system to your WordPress blog. You can also easily add a poll into your WordPress’s blog post/page.
Run for Cover - This widget shows cd covers on your Wordpress weblog. It connects to last.fm and grabs the list of cds you listened to recently and tries to find the cover images at Amazon. To speed things up, it only fetches these data once a day and keeps a local copy for the rest of the day.
WP-UserOnline - Enable you to display how many users are online on your Wordpress blog with detailed statistics of where they are and who there are(Members/Guests/Search Bots).
Popularity Contest - Popularity Contest keeps a count of your post, category and archive views, comments, trackbacks, etc. and uses them to determine which of your posts are most popular.
MyWeather - Shows current weather conditions for various cities by using data from weather.com By Eduardo.
